Avery Dennison Presents Solutions to Grow your Business
Labeling leader highlights market opportunities for label converters and brand-owners at LabelExpo Asia 2009 in China
SHANGHAI, December 1, 2009 – Label printers, converters, and brand-owners are invited to discuss their specific end-use applications with Avery Dennison experts at LabelExpo Asia 2009 this week, and learn how Fasson® labeling solutions can add value and volume.
With a focus on 'Solutions to Grow your Business', Avery Dennison is highlighting seven key label segments at its LabelExpo booth (B1, Hall E1). These segments — wine, beer, beverages, household and personal care, food, pharmaceuticals, and durable goods — represent strong opportunities for self-adhesive label converters and end-users in Asia Pacific, in terms of both value and volume.
“There are significant benefits to be gained from using self-adhesive labels in these segments, including better shelf appeal, more effective brand building, more efficient manufacturing operations, improved functionality and, in some cases, an increase in share,” said Mr. John Quinn, vice president and general manager, Asia Pacific Roll Materials Group, Avery Dennison. “Avery Dennison has long been a trusted partner of the labeling industry, with solutions that encompass advanced products and technologies, the broadest product portfolio, expertise, technical support, largest footprint of Distribution Centers and services.”
The Avery Dennison stand at LabelExpo Asia is designed to promote interaction among vistors and to offer easy access to the company’s experts. It will provide an overview of the unique requirements of the seven market segments the company has identified as growth opportunities, and also showcase the Fasson products and services that can assist in delivering optimal solutions in these segments. Visitors will be able to see and handle samples of converted and printed materials and enjoy wine tasting sessions.
Food, wine, beer, and beverages
“In the food, beer, and beverage markets, in many instances, self-adhesive labels can offer a lower total applied cost compared to wet glue that also allows improved shelf appeal to drive brand growth, better shelf appeal, and greater flexibility”, said Mr. Dagang Li, vice president and general manager, Roll Materials China, Avery Dennison.
In the beer industry, for example, pressure-sensitive labeling is used by up-market brands. In mature markets, this represents about 20% of all bottles. Since Kingway Beer converted Kingway Draft to pressure-sensitive labels in 2003, other brewers in China have begun to accept this new package form as a way to distinguish their brand as a higher value product.
For wine industry, the Fasson wine label range includes an extensive portfolio of specially-chosen paper and film facestocks for successful front, back, and neck labels. These are coupled with specially-formulated adhesives with characteristics such as 'ice bucket' performance or 'wash-off' for returnable bottles.
Household and personal care (HPC)
Product differentiation through shelf appeal is becoming even more important for household and personal care products. Research has shown that brands can win customers at the point of purchase, with attractive packages and on-shelf messaging becoming more important to consumers than conventional notions of brand loyalty.
Durables
The Fasson Durables product range, along with Avery Dennison’s strong technical sales support, helps converters and brand-owners provide labels that will last the lifetime of their durable goods and components in the automotive, electronics, and appliances industries.
Furthermore, since the power of shelf appeal also holds true in many consumer electronics segments, it also offers other innovative self-adhesive labeling solutions, including Avery Dennison’s Fasson Ultra Removable. This allows a brand owner to apply a promotional or work-in-progress label to white goods and electronics such as mobile phones and PCs, without the risk of substrate damage, torn labels, adhesive residue, and label ghosting upon label removal.
Pharmaceuticals
Avery Dennison also continues to innovate in the high-specification pharmaceuticals field, launching its new, dedicated pharmaceuticals product portfolio with guaranteed supply continuity. Customers in this industry can also benefit from Fasson’s expertise in delivering secure labeling solutions to deliver tamper-evidence and product authentication.
Avery Dennison is located at booth E1B1 at LabelExpo Asia 2009.
